Come to our Lexington branch to meet local author Shannon Dunlap and learn techniques to write your own stories.
Come learn how to bring the subjects you're most passionate about to your writing! Participants in this fun, interactive workshop will get to warm up with a trivia game about novels based on concepts borrowed from science, mythology, history, and more. Then we'll brainstorm the "sticky" ideas that just won't let us go and discuss how we can use those wide-ranging concepts to craft creative narratives. Students can start writing material for any creative project: a story or novel, a poem, a script, a graphic novel, etc., and get feedback. At the end of the class, we'll share, ask questions, and hear about Shannon Dunlap's newest book, Right Here, Right Now.
The workshop exercises are designed for middle and high school students, but all ages are welcome. Prizes will be awarded for book lovers and science lovers alike!
